Extension of a maisonette into the garden

The design concept for Kentish House is to extend the large maisonette out into the garden, creating space for the family to grow into over the next five years and beyond. The new bedroom extends into the deep north-facing rear garden, shifting the focus of the maisonette into a ‘sideways house’ enjoying a deep dual aspect ground floor plan mediating between garden levels. The extension creates a roof terrace that catches morning and afternoon light providing another outdoor ‘room’ experience.

Situated within a conservation area, the extension has been carefully positioned to sit discreetly below the line of vision from neighbouring terraces, creating a series of linked terraces connecting into the garden.
